Cat Mind Map
An effective way to learn x̄á’isla (or any language) is to learn single words by putting them into context. One thing that many people don’t realize is that x̄á’isla words are not really meant to be used by themselves, they’re essentially descriptions. Full x̄á’isla words are lacking context, so in order to make the best use of them, you need to add context to them.
With that in mind, I developed a list of phrases related to the x̄á’isla word for cat: mayás. I thought of as many ways to describe a cat as I could, though I could’ve kept going. I limited myself and still ended up with a long list of phrases that could be used in reference to a cat in x̄á’islak̓ala.
